We are an assessment based practice and primarily provide two types of Psychological Assessments:
Forensic Evaluations for the Court system and Neurocognitive testing for Government agencies and private individuals.
Answers to common questions:
How long is my appointment going to last?
This will depend entirely on the question to be answered, as well as the clinical setting. Outpatient evaluations last three to four hours for a learning disability (including ADHD) assessment, and about four to five hours for a more thorough neuropsychological assessment. Inpatient evaluations seem to take somewhat longer. Because every individual works at their own pace, it remains possible that your appointment could be significantly shorter or longer. You will be allowed to take breaks, as needed.
What ages do you work with?
We will begin testing children at six years of age, and there is no age limit after that. If you require testing on an individual younger than six years, we are willing to make referrals to specialists - most of whom are likely to be in the Dallas / Fort Worth area.
Do you accept my health insurance?
Currently, we are a self-pay facility. However, many insurance companies will allow you to be reimbursed for charges (out of network) or allow you to apply it toward your deductible. We are happy to assist you with completing paperwork if necessary; and always provide you with documentation to submit to your insurance carrier at the completion of testing (for out-of-network reimbursement). If you have questions about payment, please do not hesitate to call the New Leaf office.
